Ekvi is closing – What this means for you

On January 29, 2026 we sent an email to all users sharing the news that Ekvi is shutting down.

We know this message may have brought up sadness, disappointment, or questions. This FAQ is here to clearly explain what’s happening, what it means for you, and how we’ll support you during the shutdown process.

Our intention is to be transparent, fair, and respectful of the trust you’ve placed in Ekvi.

General

What is happening?

Ekvi has begun a formal shutdown process. This means that the Ekvi app and all related services will be permanently discontinued.

The last day of app access is February 12, 2026.

After this date, the app will no longer be accessible.

After the notice sent on January 29, 2026:

  • The app remains accessible for a 14-day notice period
  • You have time to review and save your data
  • Subscriptions are handled proactively and fairly

After February 12, 2026, the app will no longer be accessible.

You can continue to use the Ekvi app until February 12, 2026.

We recommend that you use this time to:

  • Review your symptom history and notes

  • Save anything important to you

  • Request access to your data if needed

After February 12, 2026, the app will no longer be accessible.

Subscriptions and refunds

What happens to my subscription?

If you had an active paid subscription on January 29, 2026, you may be eligible for a refund for the unused portion of your subscription.

Because subscriptions are managed by Apple App Store and Google Play, refunds cannot be processed automatically by Ekvi.

Refunds are handled through the platform where you originally subscribed:

  • Apple App Store: Refund requests are reviewed and processed by Apple

  • Google Play: Refund requests are reviewed and processed by Google

Each platform has its own policies and processes for refunds.

We understand this can feel frustrating, especially in a situation like this.

To request a refund, please follow the instructions provided by:

  • Apple App Store, if you subscribed on iOS

  • Google Play, if you subscribed on Android

If you’re unsure how to request a refund or run into any issues, you can contact us through the in-app chat before February 12, 2026, and we’ll guide you through the process as best we can.

While we can’t make the final refund decision, we’re here to help you navigate it.

Yes.

To avoid any future charges, we recommend that you manually cancel your subscription through the App Store or Google Play.

Once the app is discontinued on February 12, 2026, no new charges should occur, but cancelling ensures everything is fully stopped on your end.

Data & Privacy

What happens to my data when Ekvi shuts down?

Your data belongs to you.

We take privacy and data protection seriously and will handle all personal and health data in accordance with GDPR and applicable regulations.

Ekvi will be discontinued on February 13, 2026, and app access will end on February 12, 2026.

After the app is discontinued:

  • We will no longer collect any new data

  • Your existing data will be securely stored for a limited period only to handle user requests and complete the shutdown process

  • All remaining user-generated personal and health data will be permanently deleted no later than March 15, 2026, unless you request deletion earlier

Yes.

Until app access ends on February 12, 2026, you can:

  • View your data directly in the app

  • Take screenshots or notes for your own records

  • Request a copy of your raw data by contacting us through the in-app chat

We recommend exporting or saving what you need before app access ends.

You can request deletion of your data at any time before app access ends by:

  • Deleting your account in the app by going to Profile -> Tap the “Settings” icon on the top right -> Delete account.

or

  • Contacting us via the in-app chat if you need assistance

Once your request is processed, your data will be permanently deleted from our systems.

For security reasons, we can only process data access, export, and deletion requests when we can verify your identity.

Because Ekvi stores sensitive health data, identity verification requires that you are signed in to the app. This is why:

  • Data requests must be submitted through the authenticated in-app chat

  • We cannot process data requests via email or other external channels

If you do not request deletion yourself:

  • Your data will still be permanently deleted as part of the shutdown

  • All remaining user-generated personal and health data will be deleted by March 15, 2026

No action is required from you for this to happen.

After March 15, 2026:

  • All personal and health data related to app usage will be deleted

  • Only limited financial and accounting records required by law will be retained

  • These records do not contain health data and are access-restricted

Until app access ends, please contact us via the in-app chat.

We are committed to handling the shutdown with care, transparency, and respect for your privacy.
